Course Description

Centered on the foundational questions of identity, purpose, and legacy, this course introduces ninth-grade students to the enduring power of classic literature. Students will encounter the ancient myths and epic poetry that continue to shape modern imagination, turning to original texts to better understand themselves and the human condition. Through close reading and critical analysis, the class explores how the poetic imagination connects individual lives to universal truths. By the end of the year, students will cultivate essential skills in literary interpretation and self-reflection, equipping them to discern their own place in the broader human story.
