Course Description

This Advanced Placement (AP) English Language and Composition course cultivates high-level reading and writing skills through the close analysis of non-fiction texts, speeches, essays, and visual media. Students evaluate how writers use rhetorical strategies, evidence, and style to inform, persuade, and engage audiences, while crafting their own evidence-based analytical and argumentative essays. Designed to align with an introductory college composition curriculum, the course prepares students to synthesize complex sources and take the official AP Exam for potential college credit.
