Course Description

This Advanced Placement (AP) Statistics course introduces students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Equivalent to a one-semester, introductory, non-calculus-based college statistics course, the curriculum is organized around four primary themes: exploring data, sampling and experimentation, anticipating patterns using probability and simulation, and statistical inference. Using technology, real-world data sets, and collaborative investigations, students learn to construct persuasive, evidence-based statistical arguments and communicate their conclusions clearly. The course prepares students for success on the AP Statistics Exam and equips them with essential data-literacy skills for careers in the social sciences, business, health fields, and STEM.
